Flora was a natural fetcher with a naturally wide outrun and absolutely square
flanks. She was great at reading pressures and draws and would work way far
off when that's where she felt she needed to be. Flora had very precise balance.
She had excellent rate and used a lot of patience with her stock. I often heard people refer to her as Sweet Flora due to her gentle nature.
Flora was extremely biddable and would do whatever I asked of her to the limits of her temperament. Flora concentrated very hard on doing it right. She was very well built and had a breathtaking floating trot. A very easy dog to live with, gosh at home she was a real couch potato and definitely NOT a Morning Dog. A true teammate and a dear friend. I shall miss her deeply. She died of hemangiosarcoma.

I had the privilege to see Flora and Dot work together many times on Sheep/Cattle/Ducks, I had the opportunity to see Flora go HIT many times with exceptional runs; the GSD Nationals was a special moment! I am the lucky one. Flora was the greatest.

So Sorry to hear your sad news. Flora was one of the special ones. I'll miss seeing her. I know your heart is sad. I'm sending a big hug your way. I expect, if there is an afterlife, that we, who have been privileged with good four legged buddies in this life, will find them there waiting.

The lovely temperament on Flora allowed you to develop into the good handler
you are now. A dog like that is a treasure!

I'm sad to hear about Flora; what a shock! I'm glad I got to see her

This is a sad day for you as well as herding in general.
The few times that I observed Flora working her sheep, she optimized the
best of the GS breed. A gentle, confident gal that easily got the job done.
And she was humble also; never a show-off regardless of the scores of titles
she'd earned. A wonderful tribute to the Shepherd world and a dog that
captured the hearts and soles of many as she graced the front cover of GS
Review.
My deep condolences for the loss of your herding partner and friend.
For sure, Flora's herding fans, like me, will miss her.

What a terrible loss. Flora was a really unique dog--she is the "gold
standard" as far as desirable dogs go. Whenever a dog is biddable and
talented, I think "maybe she's another Flora!" It sounds as though she
didn't suffer much, which is some comfort. We'll be thinking of you and
Flora.

I am very sorry to hear of Floras death. She was a wonderful dog and
seven is so young. It is always hard to lose a dog, especially a wonderful
working dog like Flora, but at seven with no warning is especially
difficult. Again my condolences.

I shall miss seeing her do her lovely work with stock. Good bye dear Flora,
it will be some time before we are graced with seeing such a wonderful GSD

So sorry to hear of your loss. We've seen her work stock and she was
wonderful. It was great to watch such a fine GSD work, appreciate her
person, and enjoy life. Thank you for sharing such a magnificient animal
with so many! May her trip across Rainbow Bridge bring her much peace and
comfort.

Flora made a mark during her short life, exemplifying all that
a good herding dog should be. She was a wonderful ambassador
of her breed.
People still talk about her great work at the Arizona Herding
Assoc. trials in Jan. Her duck handling was absolutely delicate.
You and Flora are an inspiration to us all.

These works convey so little when my heart feels so much. I wish there were a deeper way to express my sympathy for your loose of Floure. She will long be remembered as a dear friend, a great herding dog but most of all a wonderful, warm and loving personality who touched our lives.

Our thoughts go to you and your canine crew in the loss of
Flora. One of my special moments at our Tequila Classic
Trials was to make the time to watch Flora work. She was one
of the first GSDs I had seen herd and it was a pleasure to
watch her style and grace in the arena. The herding
community has lost another one of those special dogs.

On a very sad note, however, Dot Delisle, who has German Shepherds and works with Tom here in Ramona, lost her beloved 7 year old bitch Flora, quite possibly the most talented and titled GSD bitch in the world. I am honoured to have had the priviledge of knowing Flora personally this past year. It was quite sudden and totally unexpected, and our hearts and thoughts go out to Dot. Flora is irreplacable - a true one of a kind.

Flora, a GREAT herding bitch
I just heard about Flora, and was devastated. I can't believe that this happened to such a great , vibrant, wonderful dog. I can't tell you how sorry I am and how I am at loss for any other words -- the herding world is going to be hard put to replace her for a long, long time.
