Etiology (or What’s in a name): In keeping with my tradition of naming my dogs after SciFi characters, Striker is named after Captain Striker from the 4-part Enlightenment story from Doctor Who (1983, with the 5th Doctor: Peter Davidson). Actually, I liked the name first and then found the SciFi connection.

Videos of Striker
Instinct testing on goats at 8-weeks-old along with her black brother. Both showed good interest and confidence for their tender age.
First time on sheep at 4-months-old. I had not put her on stock between this video and the one above. Excellent calm focus. Good fetching instinct, which could have been shown even better had I walked more straight lines. Pulled off and stopped when I stopped against the fence and recalled to me. I give it a 5-star rating.
Working goats at 10-months old. Still very puppy brained. Enthusiastic but clear-minded. Learning to work singles. Pulls up quickly if I go against a fence. Calls off easily.
First time working turkeys - Thanksgiving 2013 - 12-month-old Striker could slow down a lot more, but otherwise does a nice job. Especially considering that the pen is awful small for working them and my presence is causing the birds to split when they come directly towards me.
