Etiology (or What’s in a name): In keeping with my tradition of naming my dogs after SciFi characters, Saavik is named after the female Vulcan Lt JG in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, & Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home played by Kirstie Allie (II) and Robin Curtis (III & IV).
Saavik has gorgeous pigment and a true endurance trot. She is very athletic in build.
She is very affectionate and cuddle. Indeed, Saavik takes a lot after her grandmother Bartender who is an Anti-Panic Attack / Emotional AssistanceDog.

Here is Saavik working turkeys for the first time Thanksgiving 2013 at 12-months old. You can see her improving as the work goes on. I could get her to "go bye" (clockwise) easily, but she balked at going "away" (counterclockwise).
